Full of classic pirate vocabulary and imagery as well as the iconic fortune-seeking buccaneer Long John Silver, Treasure Island has been widely modified for film, tv, theater, and radio. Originally serialized in the children’s mag Young People from 1881 to 1882, the book was first released in 1883.
