Summary:

First posted in 1918, ‘The Elements of Style’ is an American British writing style guide, which have since become an important tool for writers and educators in its many editions straight down the years. The rules of ‘The Elements of Style’ are rooted in keeping sense and custom. The initial comprised “eight primary rules of usage, ten elementary concepts of composition, several issues of form, a summary of 49 phrases and expressions typically misused, and a summary of 57 words frequently misspelled.” E. B. White colored greatly enlarged and revised the reserve for publication by Macmillan in 1959. That was the initial edition from the so-called Strunk & White colored, which Time magazine called in 2011 among the 100 best and most important books written in English since 1923.
